PRACTICAL A/B TESTING FOR MARKETERS

Run the test.
Keep what converts.

AB Lincoln compares full pages, on-page changes, tracked links, and traffic routes. It follows one conversion event, calculates lift and confidence, then tells you—in plain English—whether the lead is real.

Evidence for the decision. You stay in control of the winner.

Full-page split tests On-page experiments Tracked links + rotators Plain-English confidence
A CHANGE IS NOT EVIDENCE

Stop comparing different weeks, different traffic, and different gut feelings.

Changing the headline and watching sales go up feels useful. But if the traffic changed too, you still do not know what caused the result.

AB Lincoln routes visitors consistently, records the conversion you chose, and explains what the current data supports—so the version you keep earns its place.

THREE DIFFERENT JOBS. THREE CLEAR SURFACES.

Use the right kind of test for the question you are asking.

01

Compare complete pages

Send traffic through one test URL, split visitors across two or more full-page versions, and keep returning visitors assigned consistently.

Best for offer angles, long vs. short pages, or a complete redesign.
02

Change one page element

Install the snippet, select a supported element with the Chrome extension, and save the variation without rebuilding the page.

Best for headlines, buttons, fonts, colors, and images.
03

Track or rotate campaign links

Publish one reusable route, measure clicks and conversions, or distribute traffic across weighted destinations without creating an experiment.

Best for ads, emails, partnerships, and campaign routing.
FULL-PAGE SPLIT TESTS

One traffic link. Every page gets a fair shot.

Use complete URLs from your existing funnel, page builder, or custom site. Set the allocation, place the conversion pixel where success happens, and send traffic to the AB Lincoln test link.

  • Two or more page variants
  • Sticky visitor assignment
  • Cross-domain conversion support
INPUT → TRAFFIC → CONVERSION → DECISION

A clean test loop your team can repeat.

01

Choose the versions

Bring complete URLs, an editable page element, or the destinations behind a tracked route.

02

Name the conversion

Install the unique pixel on the thank-you, registration, delivery, or purchase-confirmation page.

03

Route real traffic

AB Lincoln assigns visitors, preserves the relationship, and records the actions that follow.

04

Read the evidence

See rate, lift, confidence, attribution health, and the next move in language you can use.

OPTIMIZE AN EXISTING PAGE

Test the idea without rebuilding the page.

The snippet connects the page. The Chrome extension lets you select a supported element and save the non-control variation. Launch stays in the AB Lincoln app after setup is ready.

  • Text, font, color, background, and image changes
  • One running optimization per page in v1
  • Readiness checks before launch
WINNER GUIDANCE WITHOUT THE STATS COCKPIT

Know what the report means before you act on it.

AB Lincoln does not turn a lucky first conversion into a victory lap. It explains whether the test is Learning, Promising, a Likely Winner, a selected Winner, or still Needs More Traffic.

LEARNINGKeep collecting.

The traffic or conversion sample is too thin to support a winner.

PROMISINGWatch the lead.

One version is ahead, but the result still needs more evidence.

LIKELY WINNERReview the call.

The leader meets the confidence threshold you selected.

NEEDS MORE TRAFFICDo not force it.

The versions remain too close or too quiet for a trustworthy decision.

85% is the practical default. Choose 80%, 85%, 90%, or 95%. Higher confidence usually needs more visitors and conversions.

TRACKED LINKS + TRAFFIC ROTATORS

Keep the public link. Change what happens behind it.

Use one direct tracked link for a single destination or split clicks across two to five weighted destinations. Change the destination or mix later without replacing the link already in your ads and emails.

  • Raw, first-time, and repeat click reporting
  • Sticky or per-click rotation
  • Exact, latest-click, and unattributed conversion labels
THE SOFTWARE EXPLAINS. YOU DECIDE.

Confidence is guidance—not a guarantee.

You choose the hypothesis, versions, conversion event, allocation, confidence threshold, attribution window, and test duration.

Then you decide whether to keep collecting traffic, manually pick the winner, end the test, or allow auto-pick under the rules you set.

QUESTIONS BEFORE THE FIRST TEST

Clear setup. Honest answers.

AB Lincoln is intentionally practical about what each testing surface does and what still belongs to you.

Do I need to add code to my pages?+

Full-page split tests do not need the AB Lincoln page snippet. They use a hosted tracking URL plus a conversion pixel. On-page optimization does require the snippet and Chrome extension so AB Lincoln can identify and change the supported element you select.

What can I test on one existing page?+

The current product supports text and button copy, font size, font family, text color, background color, and image swaps. It is intentionally focused on practical experiments rather than acting like a full page builder.

Can the conversion page live on another domain?+

Yes. AB Lincoln supports conversion pixels across a real funnel, even when the tested page, checkout, and confirmation page use different domains. Preserving the visitor identifier through the funnel improves attribution.

Does AB Lincoln choose the winner for me?+

AB Lincoln leads with a plain-English recommendation and lets you choose what happens next. You can keep collecting traffic, manually select a winner, end without a winner, or enable auto-pick when your chosen criteria are met.

Is a traffic rotator the same as a split test?+

No. A rotator distributes traffic and reports clicks and conversions by destination. A page split test also calculates lift, confidence, winner guidance, and experiment lifecycle states. Use the test when you want an evaluated decision.
